Larry Springer is currently serving his second term as State Representative for the 45th legislative district, representing the cities of Carnation, Duvall, Woodinville, and parts of Kirkland, Redmond, Sammamish and the Upper Snoqualmie Valley. Larry was first elected to the legislature in 2004, after serving eleven years on the Kirkland city council and four as city mayor. Currently, he serves as vice-chair of the housing committee and as a member of the Rules and Transportation Committees and Subcommittee for Education. In 2007, Larry was picked to serve in leadership as Majority Floor Leader.
Over the years, Larry has been an advocate for economic development, social responsibility, diversity, the arts and creating community. Now nearing the end of his second-term a state legislator, he remains focused on finding practical solutions to housing and transportation problems in the Puget Sound region.
Larry and his wife, Penny, have owned The Grape Choice, a wine store and bar in downtown Kirkland for more than twenty-two years.
